Business is global, and so are we. For clients located in other time zones or just working late (or early, as the case may be), we are usually available from 9 am to 8 pm CET (3 am to 2 pm EST) — often later (see Contact).
In order to give you a meaningful and comprehensive quote, we need to see the material to be translated. Please send us your material by e-mail, or by fax or snail mail if that is not an option.
All your material is held in the strictest confidence. If you wish we will sign a confidentiality agreement.
We have a convenient estimate request form that you can use to get a quote. At the same time you send in the form, you can also send the text and any reference material.
- Your full name, the name and address of your company, your phone number and e-mail address.
- The target language for the text to be translated.
- Any special comments on subject matter and specialty.
- The file format in which the source text will be sent.
- Your deadline for receipt of the translation.
- Support material available from you, if any.
- Other sources of information available from you during translation, or
the name of a person to be contacted with any questions.
- Target group and target country.
- The purpose of the translation (for information, for review, for
publication, etc.).
Schedule jobs as far in advance as you can. Any service provider can meet your requirements better with an idea of what is coming.
Send the pictures. Translators work with meanings and concepts, not just words. If graphic information is useful to the reader, it will be useful to the translator, too. Never send parts lists without drawings. (Is that “Scheibe” a washer, a spacer, a disk, a plate, a web, a blank, or a wheel?)
Listen to questions. You may be the only one who has the answer (internal company terminology, shop talk, client-specific terminology or abbreviations).
Tell the translator for what purpose you need the document translated. Translators can adapt their services to meet your needs — but you must tell them what those needs are.
If you don't have all the above information available, we can, of course, still help you determine what your project will cost. We will look at a sample and/or evaluate any information you may have.
If you decide to accept our estimate and would like us to perform the translation, we will need a purchase order or other authorization to proceed. Please note that all estimates are subject to revision if the actual task differs from the information you furnished at the time of the estimate.
